It was a beautiful outing at the 2nd edition of Church Choir competition with the theme: CHRIST IN ME THE HOPE OF GLORY, Col:1:27.
In marking the year 2024 Easter celebration, AROLE ODUDWA OLOFIN ADIMULA OONIRISA ADEYEYE ENITAN OGUNWUSI OJAJA II, CFR awards winners of the Church choir competition with cash gift and food items, says the Church Choir Competition will be held annually to celebrates the musical talents within congregations across the region.
The 2nd edition of Church Choir competition, hosted on the 1st of April 2024 at the Ojaja Arena Ife Grand Resort and lndustrial Hub featured choirs from various denominations, each presenting a repertoire of sacred music. Participating choirs ranged from small Asembles to larger congregational groups, showcasing a diverse range of vocal abilities and musical styles.
After careful deliberation by the panel of judges, the following cash awards and food items were presented to the best overall Performance:
Our Lady of Perpetual Light Chapel, OAU Campus Choir for the second time known for their rich harmonies and classical repertoire, delivered a mesmerizing performance, blending traditional hymns with contemporary arrangements to win the first price of a whooping One million naira,(N1,000, 000) with 6 bags of rice.
Cathedral Church of St. Philips, Ayetoro, Ile-Ife, choir captivated the audience with their dynamic performance, infusing gospel flair into their renditions to win the 2nd price of Five hundred thousand (N500,000) with 4 bags of Rice.
While Emmanuel Anglican Church, Parakin, Ile-Ife With their impeccable vocal blend left a lasting impression on the audience for the 3rd position of Two hundred and fifty thousand Naira.(N250, 000) with 2 Bag of Rice.
Other Consollation prices like bag of Rice were given to all other participants which include:

- CCC Hephzibah Beulah Parish Afeki Opa,

Speaking to our crew, the Convener Princess Fadekemi Fadojutimi say “To achieve success in the 2025 edition of the church choir competition, several factors will likely to be contributed, such as rigorous rehearsals, talented participants, effective promotion, supportive audience engagement, and perhaps even innovative elements like incorporating technology or guest performers. So also a short drama.
She added that the purpose of the event is to multifaceted, including fostering a sense of community among church members, showcasing musical talent, providing an opportunity for spiritual expression, winning souls and populating the church/kingdom and possibly fundraising or outreach efforts.
When asked If the competition has become an annual event and her projection? ” It is what I am I’m praying for and my projections for the next five years will include increased participation from more churches across 36 States of the Federal of Nigeria. potential expansion to include different genres or styles of music, greater community involvement, and possibly even regional or national recognition.”
The Church Choir Competition showcased the beauty and diversity of sacred music, uniting congregations in a celebration of faith and harmony. Each choir demonstrated remarkable talent and dedication, inspiring all who attended. As the event concluded, participants and spectators alike left with hearts uplifted and spirits renewed, reaffirming the power of the Resurrection power of our Lord Jesus Christ and a beautiful music to nourish the soul for the Easter celebration.
